SUMMER 2019

We are so excited to announce 4 classes this summer! Read below for a break down on all 4!
Acting Classes
This Summer, we will be offering two acting classes for two different age groups: Middle School (12-14) and High School/ College (14-19).
Middle School (12-14): This class will focus on ensemble building and the fundamentals of listening/responding through basic exercises and games. The goal is to build foundational skills in acting through a fun and creative environment welcoming of all performers of all skill/experience levels. At the end of the class, there will be a small performance of sketches that will allow each student to show what they have learned in working with an ensemble. The class will meet Monday-Friday from Xam-Xam from 7/XX/19-7/XX/19.
High School/College: This class will focus on ensemble building and the fundamentals of acting and will go in depth in the exploration and instruction of those topics. The goal of this class is to create a foundational base in acting and ensemble work that actors can take away with them as they build or continue their careers. The actors will be taught energy exercises as well as taken through the art of listening/responding and character work in order to build a foundational base in acting for high school and collegiate work. Human beings are capable of amazing and borderline supernatural things when working collaboratively in performance with an ensemble. This class will explore this concept in depth and will give each actor the opportunity to find and unlock their own potential as a performer. At the end of the class, there will be a small performance in which the ensemble will demonstrate what they have learned. This class is very welcoming of all skill and experience levels! We will meet Monday-Friday from XXpm-XXpm from 7/XX/19-7/XX/19
AUDITION/REP WORKSHOP
This summer we are offering a short course in audition techniques for actors ages 12-19. This course will be instructed by and have guests who are local industry professionals who have experience working as actors in the New Jersey region. Throughout the course, students will be taken through Play auditions and monologue prep, Musical auditions and song prep, how to find monologues and music theater repertoire, how to cut material, and how to demystify the room and people on the other side of the table. Students will also be occasionally asked to prepare and perform material for the class and in a mock-audition set-up. The class will meet twice a week in the evenings from 7/XX/19-8/XX/19
The "Don't Waste My Time!" College Audition Workshop
